Gifted and talented

We aim to nurture the talents and abilities of all of our pupils.

We implement teaching and learning opportunities to ensure that our Gifted and Talented pupils are challenged and engaged throughout their learning experience.

Our teachers differentiate work in the classroom to enable Gifted and Talented pupils to progress more quickly.

Our teachers differentiate work in the classroom to enable Gifted and Talented pupils to progress more quickly, adding breadth, depth and pace where applicable. We also support our pupils as they develop emotional resilience, successfully dealing with issues such as social integration, group working and the experience of failure.

Our Gifted and Talented pupils are monitored regularly by their class teacher and the Gifted and Talented Coordinator through observations, work sampling and discussion. Parent participation in their child’s learning is encouraged and they are frequently involved in discussions concerning how educational provision can be enriched and extended.

Our exceptional Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to undertake additional study to achieve at level 6 in their Key Stage 2 SATS.
